Lets Make a Merry Christmas Slimline Z-Fold Card
Hey crafty friends! Today I’m sharing a fun and festive DIY Merry Christmas Slimline Z-Fold Card tutorial. If you love creating dimensional holiday cards using your Cricut, Silhouette, or other electronic cutting machine, this project is perfect for you!
This card is made using an original SVG file I designed, along with beautifully coordinated cardstock from CutCardStock.com. It’s a great Christmas card idea that you can customize with different colors, patterns, and holiday embellishments.

Step 1: Prepare and Cut Your SVG File
Start by downloading the SVG and uploading it to your machine’s design software. Once the layers are arranged and sized, cut all pieces of the card base and embellishments.
If your machine includes a draw/pen feature, this is a great time to let it write your inside sentiment for a polished look.
Step 2: Cutting the Elements for Your Slimline Christmas Card

These colors layer beautifully to give your holiday card a traditional Christmas feel.
Step 3: Assemble the Layered Christmas Elements
Assembling the Present
Glue the Burgundy bow piece onto the red bow layer.
Add foam tape behind the bow for dimension.
Layer the Hunter Green gift piece onto the Gumdrop Green base using liquid glue.
Add foam tape to the back and attach the bow.
Place the finished gift box on your card base.
Creating the Stocking
Glue the white stocking layer to the red base.
Add the green outline.
Use foam tape to attach the stocking to the card for a raised effect.
Building the Layered Christmas Tree
Glue the Gumdrop Green layer onto the red layer.
Add the red layer onto the yellow layer using foam squares for a 3D effect.
Glue the brown tree trunk behind the base.
Add foam squares and adhere the tree to the card base.
Finishing Touches
Layer “Christmas” (black) onto the red shadow layer; attach with foam tape.
Add the holly leaves and berries using liquid glue.
Glue the “Merry” sentiment in black cardstock to complete your greeting.
Pro Tip: To keep the letters of my sentiment together as well as the pieces of my holly leaves and berries in place I used Glad Press and Seal. Simply cut out a piece of Press and Seal and after weeding the pieces of card stock that’s not needed off your sticky mat, place the piece of Press and Seal on top off your cut out pieces. This keeps the pieces in place/order as you gently lift off the pieces using the Glad Press and Seal! This is what you see on the Holly pieces below and my sentiment pieces in the pics above.
Your DIY Merry Christmas Slimline Z-Fold Card Is Complete!
That’s it! You’ve created a beautiful, dimensional Slimline Z-Fold Christmas card that’s perfect for handmade holiday happy mail. This style of card looks impressive but is simple to put together using my SVG and your favorite holiday cardstock.
You can easily personalize this card by changing color palettes, adding glitter paper, or swapping in patterned cardstock for a fun twist. If your machine doesn’t have a writing feature, simply handwrite your inside sentiment.
