Let's Make a Unique Slimline Z-Fold Father's Day Card

Hey crafty friends, would you like to create a cute and unique Father's Day card to give to the best dad on Father's day? If so, I have a super cute SVG file to make a fun slimline Z-Fold Happy Father's Day card!

The pieces of this card are cut from a digital file I designed that’s available in my Etsy shop. Also, this file is available in the Silhouette Design Store. You can use this file with your electronic cutting machine to cut out all the pieces.

Cutting Out the Pieces:

First, I cut out all the elements using my electronic cutting machine.  Here is a list of the cardstock I used from CutCardStock.com:

• Card Base: CutCardStock Cougar White 80 lb Cover Cardstock

• Happy Father's Day Sentiment:

  • 65 lb Pop Tone cardstock in Black Licorice

  • Stardream Metallic cardstock in Gold

• #1 Ribbon Award: 

  • CutCardStock Cougar White 80 lb Cover Cardstock

  • Stardream Metallic cardstock in Gold

  • Textured Discount Cardstock in Indigo

• Trophy:

  • Stardream Metallic cardstock in Gold

  • Stardream Metallic cardstock in Silver

• Stars

  • Stardream Metallic cardstock in Gold

  • Textured Discount Cardstock in Indigo

• Inside Written Sentiment:  black pen used by your electronic cutting machine

1. Layer Your Pieces

   • First, gather your ribbon award, trophy, "Day" sentiment and star pieces and layer them together before you start placing them on your card base. When layering some pieces like your ribbon, you can add foam tape for dimension.

2. Fold and Place Elements

   • Fold your card along the pre-scored lines to see where to correctly place your elements.

   • Glue/tape down the “Happy”, trophy, and the layered star on the inside of the card base above the sentiment.

   • Then glue down the “Father's” along with the bigger single star on the middle panel of the card base.

   • Lastly, glue/tape down your ribbon award and “Day” word on to the front panel of the card base. I like to add foam tape to these pieces for dimension.

   • Make sure that any pieces with an outline on your card base are placed slightly below the outline to create an offset effect. (This applies to the ribbon, “Happy,” "Father's", and the trophy.)

3. Final Touches

   • Once all your pieces are placed, you have a cute and unique slimline Z-Fold Father's Day card!  You can add embellishments if you like.

   • Additionally you can stamp the back of your card with a personalized stamp, like I did with my “Made with love by Tiffani Hawkins” stamp.

   • Also, there's space under the sentiment to write your own personal message!

Make it stand out

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t like the sentiment on the inside or don’t have a pen for your electronic cutting machine? No Problem!

If you don’t have an electronic cutting machine with a pen, you can still make this card! Simply skip/delete the step of writing the sentiment with the pen when cutting out your card. Just hand write or stamp what you like on the inside instead of using the machine to do it for you.
